Wildfolks is a contemporary brand that handcrafts its spectacles in cellulose bio acetate. The lenses are made from castor oil, by extracting oil from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. These seeds, which are known as castor beans, contain a toxic enzyme called ricin. However, the heating process that castor oil undergoes deactivates it, allowing the oil to be used safely.

The cases for their sunglasses are made from vegan leather, the lens cloth from recycled bottles, and finally, Wildfolks’ packaging boxes are made from recycled paper.

PORTRAIT Eyewear was born from the genuine desire of two half-Venezuelan/Spanish siblings of preserving the traditional quality of Italian handcrafting, channeling such a precious resource through contemporary eyewear design research and following the principles of a sustainable and socially responsible business.

Their vision is to be committed to best quality design and its potential to shape society, following the meaningful economy principles from a focus on materialized profit to value design and well-being.

MINCHILLO EYEWEAR

Born in 2015 with drawings and prototypes inspired by geometrical forms and glasses of the past. All production is carried out by hand in a laboratory in the south of Italy, from the pencil-to-matit design until the finished frame. Combination between Mazzucchelli acetate and the most valuable types of hinges with rivets to ensure high resistance and duration. Everything is carried out patiently and laboriously by hand, with passion and love for their work.
