Known for innovative cuts and witty references to pop culture, the avant-garde fashion design by Bernhard Willhelm mixes sports and streetwear with elements of pure fantasy. MYKITA teamed up with the designer in 2009 for a collaboration that has brought a number of equally chic and outrageous eyewear creations into existence. Pairing uninhibited imagination with innovative manufacturing techniques, the MYKITA & BERNHARD WILLHELM aesthetic pushes style genres and manages to be electrifying, funny, weird, and sexy at the same time.

Bernhard Willhelm entertainer and enfant terrible: fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm is a little bit of both. MYKITA and the Paris- and L.A. based designer collaborate since 2009. From sun visor to coloured gradient lenses or eighties-style aviator frames – just as the fashion designs of Bernhard Willhelm, these models blend innovative designs and cues from the world of contemporary culture to form independent creations.
The Collection
Next up from this wild union of design is a bold sunglasses concept with sculptural silhouettes and airbrush gradients bringing back Venice beach style of the early 2000s. The concept was introduced via four frames made up of two pairs: SUPER and LOST, TOTAL and NEW. Partners are identified by the same top half, a lens crop creates a partner model with a more slim-line front. New arrivals DEEP and FOCUS feature thicker rims all around the lens and introduce new colorways, such as Black / Sand and Chantilly White / Turquoise.
